Welcome to our Baavet

Baavet has just been launched, a business setup and owned by Roger Payne who has a background in Sheep farming, health and making lovely cosy duvets. The business in Ireland is run by Tom from Kilcock, Co Meath and all the Wool in our Irish Baavets comes from Irish farms.

Sadly wool can no longer be processed commercially anywhere in Ireland in fact most Irish wool is exported direct to China, or shipped to the UK for processing and although we have a Baavet HQ in Ireland we will be making the first Irish wool Baavets mainly in Snowdonia but we hope in the very near future to come across the Irish Sea and make them in Ireland.

The website has been built by Nick and his team from Ireland Website Design based in Co.Waterford.

How Baavet started?

Baavets were first developed by husband and wife team Roger and Lesley who have a small hill farm in Snowdonia, North Wales (His mother’s name is Eileen O’Dowd so there is a strong Irish connection!) They wanted to find a value added use for wool and thought that a wool duvet would be the thing.

I bought a Baavet at the All Ireland Ploughing Match and just wanted to let you know that my husband and I are enjoying sleeping under it very much.  It is truly self regulating.  My husband has been sleeping "covered up" for the first time in many weeks as he is so hot with covers on.
Thank you.
